Born and raised in New York, Tatiana graduated cum laude from Syracuse University's College of Engineering and Computer Science in 2017 with a degree in Computer Engineering. She's drawn to hard technical problems and enjoys working across a wide range of technologies, with expertise in distributed systems architecture and design, decentralized applications, and agentic engineering workflows.
Tatiana has been rated a Top Performer at Zillow for several years running for her impact as a backend engineering lead on Zillow's Messaging platform. As one of four engineers who architected and built it, she helped take Messaging from concept to a nationally scaled product. It now sits at the center of the home-buying journey, connecting buyers with co-shoppers, agents, loan officers, closing teams, and LLM agents. Before that, she worked on Zillow's first integration in OpenAI's ChatGPT plugin store, partnering with OpenAI and Zillow's legal team to build prompt-engineering guardrails against Fair Housing Law violations. Her experience building production systems at scale also includes real-time processing with Kafka Streams, Kubernetes-based horizontal scaling to address JVM warmup, atomic sampling algorithms, task management systems, OAuth 2.0 and AuthN/AuthZ flows, GraphQL design using server-driven UI and display-ready principles, and search APIs.
Tatiana is a natural collaborator across teams and organizations. Since her early days as a junior engineer, she has given numerous internal and external conference talks, hosted panels and workshops on AI and backend engineering, and traveled across the U.S. recruiting talent for Zillow. Since 2024, she has served as one of Zillow's AI Champions, raising the organization's AI fluency through workshops and hands-on skill building.
Outside of her core role, Tatiana stays involved in a lot. For the past two years, she has helped automate the intake process at SaveABunny, a local rabbit rescue, so every incoming bunny reliably gets the medications it needs. In 2018, she was selected for Jimmy Song's Programming Blockchain scholarship and received full sponsorships to ng-conf and PyBay. She was also chosen as one of 300 attendees, out of 10,000 applicants, for Google's Women Techmakers International Women's Day event in Mountain View in both 2018 and 2019. She writes occasionally on Medium, where her stories have passed 250,000 views.
In her free time, Tatiana enjoys rock climbing, hiking, techno, and tech meetups and conferences. She's passionate about giving back and actively mentors young women pursuing careers in tech.
